Planning for the 2021-2022 School Year
As the OCDSB begins planning for the 2021-2022 school year, returning students must begin the process of selecting their courses for next year. All OCVSS students will complete this process at the same time as their "in-person" OCDSB peers, with support and guidance through the process from their Home School guidance staff.

All current OCDSB high school students are expected to be able to begin making course selections in Xello as of Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Xello is a new web-based program that replaces the “CareerCruising” program that was used in previous years. At this time, all student course selections will be completed based on “in-person” learning at their home school for the 2021-2022 year.

School-based guidance staff will be communicating directly with students in the coming weeks to provide information, guidance, deadlines, and pathway planning to their OCV students. If you have any questions regarding accessing Xello, course requirements or recommendations, or specialty course offerings/programs please contact your students' guidance counsellor directly: https://ocvsecondary.ocdsb.ca/student_services/guidance_counselling

Expression of Interest for OCV Secondary

Students wishing to express an interest in attending the Ottawa-Carleton Virtual High School for 2021-2022 may do so in Xello by selecting the ‘OCVSS’ course in the ‘optional course’ field in Xello. Please note that students are not making a firm commitment to attending the OCVSS through this action; it is only an expression of interest. Additional details regarding commitment process, timelines, available courses/programs, and expectations for remote learning (via OCV) will follow in the coming weeks. See How to add OCVSS Expression of Interest in Xello.
