Remote Support Teachers

What is a Remote Support Teacher?
A remote support teacher is a teacher at the OCV who is available to provide remote support to students during a block where they are not teaching a class.

When are Remote Support Teachers Available?
During each teaching block, remote support teachers are available for online support after the first 40 minutes of the period and until the end of the period - e.g. 9:40-11:30, or 1:10-3:00.

How Do I Access a Remote Support Teacher?
To access support from a remote support teacher, simply look at the table below and find the appropriate department. Then, click on the department’s Google Meet link. The link will take you to the department office where there will be teachers available to provide academic support.

For example, if a student wanted help in grade 10 history, they would see on the table below that history is part of Canadian & World Studies which falls under the Social Studies department. The student would then click on the blue link for the social studies department office where they could find a teacher to support them.
