Dear Parents/Guardians 


Thank you to all the students and staff who shared photographs, stories, artwork, poetry, music, reflections and memories to create a moving Remembrance Ceremony on November 11th. During Veterans Week, we engaged in activities to reflect on, and to recognize all who took part, in any form, with past and current conflicts. 

Thanks to those who were able to join the OCDSB Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Road Trip Event virtually or in person on Wednesday, November 9th. To view a summary of OCVSS’s Equity Initiatives please click here

We appreciate your partnership in your youth’s success. We know that the OCV learning environment offers unique advantages as well as challenges. As we approach the Progress Report period, it is timely to review:

7&8 Progress Reports & HS Midterm Report Cards:
7&8 Progress Reports and are scheduled to be released on November 17th. 

Grade 9-12 Midterm Report Cards will be sent to students and parents/guardians on Wednesday November 23rd.

 

The OCDSB Continuing Education Department are excited to continue to offer the free virtual after school tutoring program for grade 7- 12 students within our school board.  

Days and Times: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Virtual Tutoring Program For more information please see 2022-2023 Virtual Tutoring Program website   

 

Student Services Update
Grade 12s are reminded that the full disclosure date is Nov. 29, 2022. Any courses dropped after that date will appear on a transcript. Students can make changes by booking an appointment with their guidance counselor .  

All high school students are reminded to check the Student Services Google Classroom for opportunities and deadlines regarding OCVSS Community Involvement Hours. 

 

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) Gr. 12 students who have registered, will write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) between Monday, November 21 to Thursday, November 24. Grade 10s and 11s will have an opportunity to write in the Spring. More information to come.

 

Student Councils: Students are encouraged to check out daily announcements for information on upcoming OCVSS Trivia Night -Thursday November 17th at 3:30pm

Upcoming dates
:

Nov. 24 (4-7 pm) and Nov. 25 (9-12pm): 7&8 Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews  

Nov. 25: PA Day for
all students K-12. There will be no classes that day.
