Dear Families,
As we head into the final 9 days of class before the winter break, we wanted to keep you updated on things happening at OCVSS.
To support student success and wellbeing and to maximize the technologies available in OCV, all students in grades 7-12 will participate in weekly Skills Labs. Each Wednesday, students are learning about executive functioning, time management, and organizational strategies essential to achievement. We invite you to ask about Being a Proactive Learner, Juggling Workload, Problem Solving and Advocating for Yourself. You might take-away a helpful tip for your workplace or household too! Special thanks to OCV staff member Kayla Keenan for developing this resource.

Secondary Summative Tasks and Assessment Dates
Preparation for final course assessments is approaching as we near the end of semester 1 courses. It is important that students are present and prepared on the days that summative tasks take place in classes. Key dates are communicated to students by their teacher and differ by course. At OCV, most courses' summative assessments will consist of project(s), final tests or quizzes, and/or an “exit interview” to provide students a final chance to demonstrate their learning. For specific details about summative assessments in a particular course, please contact your child’s teachers directly.
High school semester 1 summative assessments (in all courses) will occur over a period of four days, from Tuesday, January 24 to Monday, January 30.
Tuesday, Jan 24 - All Period 1(A) assessments (exit interviews, projects due, tests/quizzes)
