The OSSLT (Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test) is expected to be a graduation requirement for all students graduating in the 2022-2023 school year.
OCVSS will provide grade 12 students an opportunity to write the OSSLT this fall. Grade 10/11 students will have access to the test in the spring and/or next year.
Grade 12 students will receive an email this week asking them to complete a form to indicate their plans for meeting the Literacy graduation requirement. Please complete this form by no later than Tuesday October 18, 2022. Students who do not complete this requirement can not be awarded a diploma.
Additional details regarding in-person writing of the test and appointment times will be provided via email to those that register.

Practice Test:
Students have the opportunity to become familiar with the online test and its platform through EQAO’s online practice test. This is excellent preparation for writing the test when they return to in-person learning next year. The online practice test comprises two sessions, which include content from previous tests. The practice test is equivalent to the two sessions students would be completed during the live test. In addition, the practice test includes an introductory session that allows students to become familiar with the new online platform’s tools and functions.
